Painting Study

My first time painting in Photoshop. Don't laugh. The drawing comes from my friend BECCA SCHOLES who volunteered to let us use it to practice on and I liked mine so I decided to post it. So the genius comes from Becca but the technical color stuff comes from my little brain.
...Oh and by the way...love painting in Photoshop. Can't wait to see what happens when I integrate this into my media choices.

IF: Superhero AJAX Attack

Ridiculously Clean Rob (a nickname I contrived myself...just now) is my hero because after all growing up he was the only one who EVER cleaned the bathroom. (Except for my lame attempts once a year or so.) Armed with the mighty powers of AJAX, a toothbrush, and elbow grease no grime was left unscrubbed. I am sorry Rob for all that pressure to clean. It must keep you up at nights. So here's to you brother....

DI: This is my very first try at vector art and so far I like it! It was interesting trying to make design decisions in Illustration. With traditional painting I just paint....don't think...and it generally works out one way or another but with the computer I am consciously putting my decisions in the forefront of my mind. I am hoping this helps my traditional work also. Overall I feel it was successful besides some little tidbits here and there. If you are thinking the perspective is wrong...it is....I exaggerrated it quite a bit to give the feeling of the shower coming in on him. Oh and the process would have been much smoother if I had only gotten my Wacom from ebay....sigh....still waiting. Oh well maybe I will just have to break down and buy a graphire from the bookstore.

Vector Study 2

Here is my second attempt at understanding shapes and such. I know its boring...just a ball but I am learning loads so it really helps to do these small studies. Plus it helps that my values are better right?

Vector Ball Study 1

This week in Digital Illustration we learned how to create vector illustrations. This is basically just getting used to using a paintbrush in illustrator and getting a feel for the brush I was using. I don't think it is too successful but thats basically because I have a terrible value problem but other than that at least I learned a bit about how things work.

The Buzz

What's the latest Buzz?

Here is my late post for IF this week. I have been swamped with school so I had to just throw up the sketch instead of paint it as I had intended. This is of my roommate Brit and I who are considered the ward gossip queens. I know...its a really bad habit but we only spread the good stuff I promise.

Cube Study

So for Digital Illustration we are learning how to create something simple that is in perspective in Illustrator. So yea for me!!...I can make a cube. Its a lot harder than it looks. Oh actually I can make two cubes.....but who is counting

Here is a Mucha rip off self portrait I did last summer. I haven't posted lately because of the holiday madness and a roaming illness that attacked most of my family along with a move back to school so this is just for kicks. I will post more later today or tomorrow for Illo Friday.
